Construction of a new steel structure manufacturing plant

Project description

This project, carried out in design-build mode, covered the complete electromechanical and civil engineering for a new steel plant. The mandate included designing on soil with low bearing capacity, requiring special civil engineering for drainage and foundations.

Expertise
  • Building electricity
  • Building mechanics
  • Civil engineering
Mandate features
  • Load calculation for the dimensioning of the new electrical input.
  • 600A electrical input on pole at 347/600V.
  • Location of the building and layout of Hydro-Québec’s distribution lines.
  • Normal electrical distribution.
  • Connection of production equipment, including 2 overhead cranes.
  • Connection of mechanical equipment (ventilation and plumbing).
  • Indoor and outdoor lighting and control systems.
  • Emergency lighting system.
  • Fire alarm system.
  • Grounding network.
  • Civil engineering challenges related to muddy soil requiring drainage and specialized foundations.
  • Single-line diagram of the electrical distribution system.

Rethinking today's engineering, for tomorrow's world.
